For the first time in 2004, the Christmas lights that decorated Madrid were unlike any in the past. The City Council invited a variety of artists and designers to offer their proposals for certain sections of the city.
2004 was the year of the terrorist attacks at Atocha train station.
Estrada Design designed a roof of typographic lights from La Cibeles to La Puerta de Alcalá formed of thousands of letters that wrote the word ‘peace’ in the most ecumenical way possible: in 35 different languages.
